UK single mattress size: 90 x 190 cm

The UK standard single sized mattress (3ft x 6ft 3) is a size which is favoured for growing children and smaller guest bedrooms. It is our smallest mattress and is a great space-saving mattress.

EU single mattress size: 90 x 200 cm

The EU standard single sized mattress (3ft x 6ft 6) offers 10cm more leg space than the UK single mattress, allowing the sleeper more room to stretch out. It is the perfect fit for an IKEA single bed frame.

UK double mattress size: 135 x 190 cm

The UK standard double mattress (4ft 6 x 6ft 3) is perfect for solo sleepers who like to stretch out during the night. It is also great for couples who have a small bedroom or for a guest room where you want to be able to host more than one guest.

EU double mattress size: 140 x 200 cm

The European double mattress (4ft 7 x 6ft 6) suits couples with a standard size bedroom or solo sleepers who like to spread out. This is the perfect fit for an IKEA double bed frame.

UK king mattress size: 150 x 200 cm

This is the UK standard king size mattress (5ft x 6ft 6) and fits a bed which is a bit roomier, giving couples a bit more space to move around without disturbing each other.

EU king mattress size: 160 x 200 cm

The EU king size mattress measures 5ft 3 x 6ft 6. This mattress is 10cm wider than the UK king mattress, making it the perfect fit for a European bed frame and a good choice for a larger bedroom.

Super king mattress size: 180 x 200 cm

The super king size mattress (6ft x 6ft 6) is an increasingly popular choice for couples with a large bedroom. The advantages are easy to see - more sleeping room! It is ideal for new parents with children who often end up crawling into their bed.

Useful tips when choosing a mattress size

Two smaller or one larger mattress?

It is possible to combine two sizes (for example two EU single mattresses) to create your desired sleeping surface. This will stop motion transfer across the mattress if you are sensitive to waking up due to your partner's movements in the night. However, it will also create a small gap between the two mattresses. We recommend opting for just one mattress to make your sleeping experience more comfortable, and the Bruno Mattress is designed to minimise movement if you're sleeping with a partner.

How big is big enough?

You want to ensure the mattress is 10cm longer than the tallest person sleeping on the mattress. The best way to test the width of the mattress is to fold your hands under your head and check whether your elbows touch the edges or your partner. If you're touching, we suggest opting for a slightly wider mattress.

Consider the size of your room

If you're moving into a new room, measure carefully. Remember you need enough space to move around and your new bed might not be the only furniture that needs to fit in the space!
